Food lovers unite!
When we first entered into the health and wellness space, we understood the general importance of both exercise and nutrition. Something along the lines of, eat “healthy” and stay active, and you’ll be on the path to improved or sustained health. Pretty simple, right?
As time passed, our interest in nutrition grew. We read books, listened to podcasts, watched documentaries, cooked new (sometimes weird) things, and experimented with our own eating habits. Throughout this process we realized how unique, complex and integral nutrition is to an individual’s health. The more we learned, the more we wanted to share this knowledge with our clients. Our goal? Help our clients feel good and improve their overall quality of life.
Given this, Cory enrolled in a program through the Nutritional Therapy Association (NTA), whose curriculum is based on an in-depth, individualized approach to nutrition, health, and wellness. The NTA focuses not only on nutrition, but also emphasizes the importance of establishing positive lifestyle choices, exploring culinary wellness, and fostering social and personal interactions.
This program is well-suited for our team at West Fitness as we observed many similarities to our core values: Listen, Coach, Empower. By closely listening to each client's unique nutritional needs, we are able to coach them and provide individualized plans to help them achieve their nutritional goals. Furthermore, we are able to educate and empower our clients when it comes to their nutrition, teaching them simple and sustainable options they are able to incorporate into their daily lives.
Through this journey, it has become clear that nutrition is the foundation of a person’s overall well-being. Ultimately, we believe that what we eat can drastically shape who we are and how we feel.
